His early years were inauspicious. At eighteen years old, he was a failure: a high school dropout  stocking shelves at a department store for $4.25 an hour.  He was married with a child, and his minimum wage job did not provide enough to support his family.

Sixteen years later, he was a success: a young faculty member at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

What happened? How did he do it?

His first book  Square Peg: My Story and What It Means for Raising Innovators, Visionaries, and Out-of-the-Box Thinkers describes how he transformed himself from these humble beginnings to become a Professor at Harvard University.

And his more recent book Dark Horse: Achieving Success Through the Pursuit of Fulfillment, is an inspiring and informative explanation of how you can craft your own career, by seeking fulfillment, and starting now.
