Fostering Social Engagement
What Is the SES Website About?
Social Engagement Solutions is a way to build, activate, and replicate community transformation – and one easy way to explain it is with a story using a traditional circus tent analogy.
The Circus Tent Analogy
Building the Platform = Putting up the Tent
When the circus arrives in town, the moving crew carefully finds a field that suits their purpose.
Then they become construction workers. They lay out all the poles and ropes and canvas and pegs of the tent and make sure they are carefully aligned and organized in exactly the right way.
Then they bring in the elephants (probably tractors nowadays) and POP – up goes the PLATFORM.
And in the middle of the tent is a ring where the show is held, with seats around so the audience can see the show.
The crew can now prepare for the performance.
Delivering the Performance = Putting on the Show
Now the crew that assembled and erected the tent takes on new roles – they become the performers that put on the show that entertains and transforms the crowd.
And they also assume all the business roles needed to market and manage the show.
And so the show goes on – until it is time to seek new pastures
Eventually their stay in town is over, and it is time to move on.
The Relocation = Moving on Again
The crew switches roles again, and they become movers. They carefully pack everything up, and move the entire assembly to a new field location.
That is what this website is about – it is about constructing a platform, using the platform to transform the life of a community, then moving and cloning everything in a new field location. Platform, Performance, Relocation.
And it is self-organizing and self-training.
The Social Engagement Solutions Website
1. SES Platform
First the team assembles all the components needed to form the structure, then when they are all in place they are activated and organized around a ring and seating.
2. SES Performance
Then the team that assembled and erected the structure guides a transformational experience – one that measures and improves social engagement.
3. SES Relocation
And this entire assemblage is yours to copy and clone to wherever you want to go.
4. SES Process
And in order to put on the show, you have to learn how it is done.
So to guide the performance, you need to learn the process.
5. SES Structure
And the process lives inside a structure, so you have to learn about the structure too.
And the result?
A very unique structure that is scalable without collapse and lasts over time without fading away, so a small group can grow into a community without losing coherence or burning out its leaders.
And where to begin?
And yes. it is self-organizing and self-training, as we explain here.
To build your own tent, you need to understand the components that make the structure work.
Begin with the components that will help you understand social engagement by measuring it.
Yes we haven’t defined or explained it yet – and that is the next step for you!
These three frameworks form the foundation of your measurement toolkit.
Begin by going to our Platform section and learn about
- First explore Ken Wilber’s AQAL model and learn how to traverse quadrants
- Gallup measures of Social Engagement
- Tribal Leadership measures of Community Culture – and the importance of TRIADs
They give you a full-spectrum view of engagement: inner experience, measurable behavior, and cultural dynamics.
This is your tent to build, your community to transform, and your platform to replicate wherever you choose.
That’s where you begin – and oh – you are not on your own – after you complete the AQAL modules we invite you to consult with us one-on-one for an orientation and on-boarding session.
